Imation adds flash storage to charity wristbands

Imation_wristAll the rage a couple of years back and still doing steady business are the coloured charity wristbands. They showed you'd done your bit for charity, but served no other practical use. Well, Imation plan to change all that.

It's launched USB flash drive wristbands in a range of "charity-friendly colours". Much the same as the ones previewed at this year's CES, they're available in capacities ranging from 32MB to 1GB. The bands can also be customised with a logo or message if you're willing to commit to purchasing 100 of the wristbands direct from Imation Japan. Intel has already taken advantage of the offer, with branded wristbands already doing the rounds at the company's HQ.

No news on price - probably best to contact the company direct for a bulk price.

Samsung YP-T9 reviewed

Well well, another Cnet review... hey, it's frontpage lubricant if nothing else. Need to keep those DAP engines rolling, innit?

But anyway... sweet-looking player, that YP-T9 (B) from Samsung. Cnet Asia wrote some stuff about the non-Bluetooth version of this particular gadget... well, you know the drill from there. They review, we post, you comment. Step number three is optional.

Notice that the article itself was written by a person from the Chinese website "Zol.com.cn" and that Cnet Asia translated the thingy + appended their scores to it afterwards. Hmmm... who would like to see a DAPreview review appear on Cnet ?

The good: Good tactile feel; decent audio performance; very good video playback time.

The bad: Supports only SVI video codec; small screen for video.

The bottom line: The Samsung YP-T9 raises the bar by the YP-T8, but with a more beguiling design that's worthy enough to warrant an upgrade.

Score: 7.6/10.0

LINK

I'll hold off for the Bluetooth edition... recently come to like the Bt + DAP combo quite a lot. Sound quality isn't all that (at least, not for my low-end headphones); but with all the commuter noise going on, "sound quality" tends to become kind of an abstract concept anyway. Those train doors have stolen my SennHeiser MX-400s for the last time, I'm telling ya .

Dell Sells Ergodex Customisable Keyboard

I once went on a blind date with someone who had been rather horribly injured in an industrial accident while working at a tuna canning plant. The fingers of their right hand were splayed out across a 270 degree angle, which not only ended their unpromising career as a jazz trombone player but made typing the “Touching the Void” style screenplay about the experience damned difficult on a standard keyboard.

Give it a shake – and it’s dry!

The umbrella that doesn’t get wet in the rain – or dirty, either.

Even after heavy rain, just give this umbrella a good shake and it will be clean and dry right away. Even in light-coloured fabric, it will keep looking immaculate for years. The secret: Innovative nanotechnology.
Modelled on a natural phenomenon – the lotus leaf.
In nature, a fascinating effect is produced by the microscopic, rough nanostructure on the leaves of the lotus plant: Dirt and moisture simply roll off. This is because there is a much smaller surface area to which things can stick than on a smooth surface.
The design of your NanoNuno® umbrella is based on this natural principle, with the result that moisture does not penetrate the fabric and so there is no tedious drying. This process was developed in Switzerland during many years of research.
Classically elegant full-length umbrella with high-quality wooden handle and automatic mechanism.
The strong 8-part aluminium and fibreglass shaft and ribs will withstand even heavy squalls. The curved handle made from smooth, polished beech feels comfortable and secure in your hand. The canopy measures 96cm (37.8”) in diameter.
Canopy: 100% polyester. Length 88cm. (34.6”)Weight approx. 560g (1.2lbs)

Look at.
